Auction Description

Vintage of Bridal Beading w/ Sequins Satin and Beaded flowers: 8x12"

Icy Icy white satin with white pearl beads and white sequins
Looks to be either a sample of fabric OR someone started to bead a small bag?

Found a wonderful box of trims at an auction last week along with some linens from the same estate.  Looks like a mixed group of 1940s and 1950s and some earlier that appear to have been taken off old pillowcases and linens.

One of those mystery items, a piece of bridal satin with some traces of backing, folded into roughly a small handbag shape and then beaded and sequined in beautiful flower design.  All are fastened on by hand stitches.  Could hav ebeen a sample from a bridal gown,  but not a clue on what it was intended to be.  Since all the trims in this batch are 1940s 1950s, I would say it is from that period too.

What could you use it for?  Beads are gorgeous tiny glass pearl opaque beads with sequins that have an AB finish, sort of an irridescent look to them, so very pretty.

Design:8x12" satin with folded edges, the roughly 1/2 of it lengthwise (minus about an inch) is covered with clusters of pearly seed beads 8 or 9 beads forming little crosses.  Other half has a 2 1/2 x 8 1/2" section of beaded flowers, sequins with little beaded centers.  Gorgeous work, and it looks hand done judging from the back.  There is a hole punched in (see photo), I sort of think it is where clasp would be?

Fiber: satin, not sure that that is made from, very shiney and heavy.  Beads are small glass seed beads with pearl finish.  Sequins I am assuming are some sort of early plastic with rainbow white finish.
Colors: soft white on the sheer trim, baby blush pink on the ribbon

Age:  most things in the box were from 1900 to 1950s.  I think these are from the 1940s or 1950s.

Condition:  very good for its age (60+ years)! Clean and ready to use.   There are a few loose beads on back of  item (part w/ little crosses might have to take a stitch or two. There are a few extra beads along the folds that can easily be used to replace anything missing.  Rest of beading appears vrey sturdy, especially the flowers.

Pretty piece of beaded satin for your sewing or crafting needs.  Delicate and pretty where ever you want to use it.

IMPORTANT:  For USA buyers, second item ships free and free insurance for any item(s) over $20.  Confirmation included.  Returns accepted but please contact me first to discuss the problem.  All items covered completely against loss in the mail whether you buy insurance or not.

International buyers welcome, but payment by Paypal only (contact me if a problem).
