OPENING OF THE DERBY MEETING AT EPSOM - FINISH OF THE FIRST RACE 02.06.46 Hundreds of racegoers paid a visit to the famous Epsom racecourse this afternoon for the opening of the Derby meeting and saw Mr S. Ingham's LINKLATER win the first race - the Mynne Selling Plate from Mr P. Thrale's HYACINTHIA and Mr John Read's MICHAELMAS. The photograph measures 8" x 6" black and white and is generally in good condition, press stamp and caption to reverse. There is one fold about 1 1/2" in from the left edge of the image and one or two very minor signs of damage (see scan).
