My Comments : Cast out from a rich family, of illegitimate birth, Hope is brought up in a loving family, ignorant of her heritage. Taken into service by her birth family, blackmailed and cast out again, she becomes destitute on the streets. Becoming a nurse for Cholera victims, she suffers the horrors of the battlefields of the Crimea, but then must return to England to face the legacy of her birth.
