Subject : A textbook of Surgery.
Format : Hardback, xix, 1256 pages, 644 illus. many in colour
Dimensions : 247mm x 170mm x 63mm thick
Condition : Very good general condition. Blue board bound with gilt lettering on spine. Slight rubbing of corners and more so at bottom of spine (see photo). Binding is entire, but end papers are split at binding. Clean, clear and crisp pages throughout, albeit with trace of yellowing at edges. One page of index has creases. No foxing apparent.
Narrative extract : "The war being over,the Editors are reunited. Within a few weeks of that happy event we were called upon to prepare a third edition."
My Comments : A purely medical textbook and reference for professional surgeons, physicians and post graduate students. Due to its age, this book is also modestly a collectable item.
