DRAGON 60053. THIS IS A 1:72 SCALE DIE-CAST MODEL OF A LATE W.W.II GERMAN TANK DESTROYER 'ELEFANT' aka 'FERDINAND'.
Weighing in at a hefty 64 tons it was not a great sucess. The main armament was powerful (8.8cm Pak 43 anti-tank gun) but due to the complete lack of a secondary m/c gun it proved vunerable to Russian tank-killer infantry in the Kursk offensive where many were lost. In addition due to their weight they were slow, somewhat unreliable, had a limited range of movement and were unable to cross many bridges.
WELL DETAILED MODEL IN A CLEAR PLASTIC DISPLAY CASE, ALSO USEFUL FOR WAR-GAMING.
MINT, BOXED NEW.
